We met up with Carrie & Dustin at upper Mission Creek in Kelowna for their engagement session last week. The clouds played nice and let some sun through and we got some wonderful light down by the creek. We headed back through the fields and then headed to a nearby orchard so the couple could enjoy a glass of wine in amongst the trees. We are so looking forward to photographing their wedding this fall!
We photographed Melissa & Dayton's Trash the Dress session right after all the formal portraits were finished on their wedding day. We found a great location hidden in the middle of Waterfront Park that really suited the couple (thought the original idea of a water fight would have been awesome as well!). As we were walking back to the limo the bride and groom spontaneously dared each other to take a dip into the dolphin's fountain. Good thing they had a change of clothes for their dinner that night!
It was a beautiful summer day for an outdoor wedding at Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna. The wedding party consisted of Melissa’s two daughters and Dayton’s two daughters so this ceremony not only united Melissa & Dayton but was also the union of two families into one.
The bride recently got a tattoo of a butterfly on her foot in memory of her brother. She wanted him to be a part of her day so there were little touches added throughout: butterfly headbands for the bridesmaids, butterfly name plates, and her shoes showed it off the tattoo beautifully.
After the ceremony we photographed the wedding party around the winery before heading inside to a luncheon Reception. The food was catered by Summerhill and was a really great all organic meal, especially the merlot infused caesar salad!
We headed out with just the bride and groom to do the couple portraits to a great location we had scouted out a few weeks before that gave an awesome view of the valley. Then we headed down to Waterfront Park for some more along the boardwalk.
After all the formal portraits were done we went straight into a trash the dress session. It deserves it’s very own blog post so stay tuned!
Nothing like having a newborn baby in the house to keep us occupied! We welcomed our second child, Eli Grayson Cudmore, into the world on January 13th, 2011.
Here is a small selection of what we have captured so far:
