As Kelowna wedding photographers we are truly lucky to be working in the beautiful Okanagan valley. There is a wide range of unique locations that allow us to capture weddings in a variety of environments. Like this wonderful pyramid located at Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna. This entire wedding and reception took place at Summerhill, which is great because of the varied locations Summerhill has available on the property.
For the end of the wedding party portraits we headed up to the pyramid to get this stunning shot. While it was super hot this day, the couple and wedding party were troopers and we got through it quickly.
This image also shows how we like to handle large group shots that are a bit more interesting than just a single line of people. We prefer to break them up into smaller groups and spread them out throughout our frame, and the pyramid frames them in quite nicely.
After we were done we sent the wedding party away and moved the couple into the shade of the pyramid and continued on with the wedding couple portraits.
During this wedding in Kamloops we headed out to the family farm for the bridal party group shots & bride and groom portraits. They came up with the idea of using the old barn as a prop for a tug of war type battle between the men and women of the bridal party. The ominous clouds rolling in adds to the drama of this image, and the eternal fight that divides the wedding party to opposing sides of the aisle.
It was a hot September the year of this wedding and we had just finished photographing the family & wedding party. We captured this moment as the the wedding couple was walking over a hill to our next location for photographs with just the two of them. There was no direction on our part, just a candid moment the couple shared with each other. The wedding was at the beautiful O'Keefe Ranch near Vernon, BC.
The Beatles said it best, "Love is all you need". Or, more literally in this case, the word "love" in graffiti on the fence across the street from where this lovely couple got married. It is images like this that we strive to capture, meaningful memories with style.
The couple had a quaint ceremony in their friend's backyard in Vancouver and they kept it simple: good friends; good food (all locally sourced and all from within 100km of the wedding!); and a cozy, meaningful ceremony surrounded by all they needed, love.
Ran across this article on Weddingbells that has some great tips on what the bride and groom can do to help get perfect wedding photos. We really like to shoot an engagement session prior to your wedding, which is why it is included in all of our packages, as we find it helps our couples relax during their day and photos.
